once again
another weekend...
another drunken night out in town
the place?
duckbill darts bar & restaurant
a fun little bar with 5 electronic dart machines
those things are actually more fun than you'd expect
they've also got 3 large flat tv's showing the world cup
food is good and usually not too packed
music is not turned to deafening volumes, so you can actually speak to the folks around you with your normal voice
not need to be shouting all night just to talk to the person right next to you
it was a fun night
once again, i had one too many drinks
but it was a fun night
it's all good
some pics...
electronic dart machine

new drinking game - if you drop the coin, you drink!

organized chaos
one of my biggest pet peeves about living in taiwan?
the traffic
there are lots of things i don't like about living in taiwan
but the traffic stands out the most since i have to deal with it everyday
just so much predictable and unpredictable stuff happens on the road
it's extremely frustrating and kinda stressful at time
i can write up a list and tell tons of stories that happen on the road, but i'd just end up writing a novel
wanna have some idea of what i mean?
check out these pics...
courtesy of poagao

we are only scratching the surface here with these pics
yup, now you know

never again..... for now

i will never drink again
yup, it was one of those
when you wake up feeling like absolute crap
then you tell yourself
i will never drink again
would not be the first time
would definitely not be the last time
10 hours of drinking will do that to you
went to ariel’s house around 3pm
had a beer in my hand by 4pm
by 10 pm, quite a few empty bottles of beer and a half empty bottle of tequila
it’s been a while since i hung out with jose cuervo
i sure missed him
went to the clover bar / café at 11 pm
met up with becky, jerry and victor
by 2 am and a table full of empty beer bottles…
it was time to go
just woke up about an hour ago, still feeling a bit buzzed
the sun is out for the first in which seemed forever
it feels like it’s been raining for weeks
it probably has
i just lost track of when the last time the sun was out, but it’s been a while
gonna see and try to go out and soak in some of this rare sunshine
feeling dehydrated as hell right now
so, at least need to go for a 7-11 run and get some coca cola
yup, coca cola...
the ultimate hangover remedy
i will never drink again
never say never
at least not until next weekend

aficionado

the next few weeks is gonna rock
NBA Finals & the World Cup!!!
it’s gonna rock!
rock on!
looks like a lot of late nights, TV and beer for me
i had the San Antonio Spurs winning the NBA title this year
so much for that prediction
the Dallas Mavericks can claim the best in Texas title for now
i’m actually glad the Spurs got knocked off
it’s great to see some new blood in the finals
i do feel bad for Michael Finley tho’
the Dallas Mavericks vs the Miami Heat
it’s gonna be a great and fun finals
i like boths teams…
so it doesn’t really matter to me who wins
it would be kinda fun and funny to see Mark Cuban as the NBA champion tho’
3 days left!
3 days and we have kick off
World Cup 2006 – Germany
my favorite is Brazil
i think they will win it all
they just play such a beautiful game
joga bonito
however, my sentimental favorite is Costa Rica… Los Ticos
why?
because i lived there for many years during my childhood
so, let’s go Ticos!
Tuanis y Pura Vida (birra)!!!

outback steakhouse

went to Outback Steakhouse last night
the food and the service were both subpar
not horrible
not very good either
definitely disappointing tho'
not what i expected
but then i think my expectations were a bit too high
i was expecting something along the lines of Ruth’s Chris or Lawry’s
not even close
it was more like TGI Friday’s or Hooter’s
in fact, i’d rather go to either of those joints than go back to Outback

do "The Nash"
i'm sure a lot of you have seen these by now...

yup, that's right
that's steve nash and dirk nowitzki of the NBA getting drunk and having a good time
pretty great and funny pics
well, guess what?
it just got better
check this...
courtesy of drunkathlete.com
hahahahahahahahahaha!
how awesome is that?!?!
that's the back to back reigning MVP of the NBA!
seriously...
how awesome is that?!?!
again, this is really great and funny
i didn't think nash deserved the MVP this year
but now he gets my vote simply for that picture
at least as the Most Valuable "Playa"
nash has always seem down to earth to me
and i've always been a fan
especially since he's also from vancouver
a lot of pro athletes think they oughtta be on a pedestal
people should worship them or some shit like that
but judging from all these pictures...
dude seems to be really down to earth...
and just seems to like to have fun...
and could care less what people thought
just get drunk and act the fool
just like the rest of us
how awesome is that?!
hey steve and dirk
if either one of you are ever in town...
holla at cha boy
let's go get drunk and act the fool...
but please steve, keep the chest hair to yourself

don't work too hard

Worker dead at desk for five days
New York Times
Bosses of a publishing firm are trying to work out why no one noticed that one of their employees had been sitting dead at his desk for five days before anyone asked if he was feeling okay. George Turklebaum, 51, who had been employed as a proof-reader at a New York firm for 30 years, had a heart attack in the open-plan office he shared with 23 other workers.
He quietly passed away on Monday, but nobody noticed until Saturday morning when an office cleaner asked why he was still working during the weekend.
His boss Elliot Wachiaski, said: "George was always the first guy in each morning and the last to leave at night, so no one found it unusual that he was in the same position all that time and didn't say anything. He was always absorbed in his work and kept much to himself."
A post mortem examination revealed that he had been dead for five days after suffering a coronary. Ironically, George was proofreading manuscripts of medical textbooks when he died.
You may want to give your co-workers a nudge occasionally. The moral of the story: Don't work too hard. Nobody notices anyway.
what more can i say?
do work hard
but make sure to enjoy life and live it to the fullest
'nuff said
