went to shenkeng and bitan on the weekend
it's been a while since i went to those places
shenkeng, i haven't been for about 5 years
bitan, i haven't been since i was 5 years old
first off, shenkeng...
famous for its tofu, it never fails to disappoint if you like tofu
... and tofu they've got!
tofu of all kinds, all good
especially stinky tofu
it's just stinking good
even if you don't like tofu, there's plenty other goodies to chow on
then on to bitan...
i don't remember much about the place
i do remember the swan boats and the suspension bridge, but that's about it
there's a few hiking trails around, which we didn't venture to any
there's the usual variety of snacks and street vendor foods
plus a few other not so common foods including pho
i love pho and this place was pretty good!
and then, there's the inevitable coffee shops, which seem to be in numbers at just about every tourist destination in taiwan nowadays
i do like the outdoors deck where they have some restaurants serving taiwanese food and beer
it would make for a good night out hanging out with friend over some food and beer with a cool night view of the river (wait, is bitan a river or a lake?! i don't know)
we had a relaxing time at bitan
walked along the boardwalk, sat around looking at the scenery and at a couple kids fishing

my sister gave birth to a healthy and beautiful baby boy this morning
yet to be named
last name is chiang, so let's just call him baby chiang for now
or baby c for short
baby c came into this world at 4am today... november 28th, 2006
yea!! scorpio baby!!!
both baby and mama are doing great
baby c loves to sleep!
he's been sleeping all day long only waking up to cry for a few seconds and then going back to sleep

relocation
i've now relocated
it's been months in the planning
after weeks of hustle, mess, stress, physical labour and all around craziness
the move is finally complete
yet, still lots of cleaning-up and lose-ends to tidy up
no, didn't move to another website
no, didn't move to another house
no, didn't move to another country
i've now moved to a new workplace
no, i didn't change jobs nor companies
my work relocated to a new facility
i guess i should say "we" instead of "i"
it was definitely a team effort with everyone being crazy busy
we have now relocated
went from hsin chuang (新莊) to tu cheng (土城)
which means an additional 5 km and 15 minutes for me to get to work
it ain't too bad
it just pretty much doubled
now i have to drive 10 km and 30+ minutes to get to work
gonna have to hit the snooze button a couple less times now

camping in miaoli
went camping in miaoli this past weekend
it was good times as usual
i love camping
i love sitting outdoors away from city in a remote place, next to a bonfire with a cold beer in my hand and a bbq sizzling nearby
good times
before setting up camp, we went to check out nanjhuang
typical as most tourist places in taiwan during the weekend, especially since it was mid-autumn, it was packed!
