woke up earlier than usual this morning
a lot earlier
hammers and drills and a few men shouting real loud in taiwanese will do that
what was going on?
this monstrosity was put up right in front of my place...
the view from my bedroom window on the 2nd floor
ugly and illegal
what an eye sore
just one of the many enjoyments of living in taiwan

Yeah. We can love Taiwan but outline what troubles us in our blogs. One of the few ways we can hopefully get some change around here?
Why don't we try doing something with "force of numbers?" We could use that eyesore across from your house as an example. Get a huge petition going to the government to crack down on illegal building?
michael... they are tearing down that shanty that's why they put up that fence. all that construction noise was actually to put up the fence. they are going to build something new, i just hope whatever they build is only one floor so it doesn't block my view, sun and whatever little ventilation and air i have left.
david... i saw the update. thanks for that and also the link. right back at ya with the link.
boyd... it's a touch situation. someday i might want to build an "illegal" housing on the top floor of the house and i hope no one snitches on me. as we say in chinese, "open one eye, close one eye". i hate all the illegal craps that goes with the traffic here, but it's nice to have the liberty of running a red light or turning left from the far right lane while cutting traffic without feeling guilty.
