my friend & colleague rich from chicago was in town again
as a matter of fact, he's still here
he'll be here until next thursday 5/10
we've got a big project going on at work, so he's been spending quite a bit of time out here
anyways...
as always, whenever he's in town, we go out for a few drinks
as always, the usual suspects joined us
this time, we decided to go to the taiwan beer bar, which is located right in the taiwan beer factory
if you like taiwan beer, this is the place to be
a cool hang out with outdoor seating area that only serves taiwan beer
i think this has to be the cheapest place (not counting convenient stores) to down a few in all of taipei city (downtown)
nt$600 (about us$18.5) for a 4000 ml keg of beer
or nt$50 (about us$1.50) for a 600 ml mug of beer
not bad
not bad at all

It's located at 85 Bade Road Section 2. Ba = 1st tone (八); De = 2nd tone (德).
Apparently you have to make a reservation.
^ haven't been there in a long time but it did get pretty packed when we used to go so i can see the need to make reservations ahead of time. altho' if you are not planning to eat, standing around isn't so bad.
