i've been coming to this temple for years now and this construction have been like this all this time. i don't know what's going on there, but i'm assuming it was "legal" when they first started, then through elections local officials have changed since then therefore haulting the construction and deeming it illegal because the new officials did not get the "bonus" that approved the construction in the first place. yup, that's taiwan politics for ya. nice and corrupt. lots of half finished buildings all over taiwan because of the same reason.

after visiting the temple, we went to take a look at the house we almost bought

yes, i almost bought a house in linkou a couple years ago

had my mind set and was ready to sign the contract but a few factors came into play and i decided not to buy it last minute

here's what we would be living in now...

almost home

the whole housing project is not complete yet so it doesn't look like much, however these are actually pretty nice homes

6 floors with an personal elevator and private garden

i did and still like these homes a lot

in a way i'm glad i didn't buy it since it in the middle of nowhere in linkou right now

there's nothing around it except for lots of empty lots and some housing contructions

will i regret it 10 ~ 20 years from now tho'?

i've been to Linko a lot but i've never seen that temple. i'd like to check it out though.

man, that house looks awesome. i didn't know you were so rich Andres! HC and i are looking at houses, but none of them have elevators! ;)

michael... the temple is located in the old part of linko. i believe it's pretty well known so next time you go there, you should just ask around and i'm sure folks will know the directions or just call me and we can go together.

man, if i was rich i would be living in that house now! one of the main reasons i did not buy that place is because it was too much. the monthly payments would have been too much for me to bare at the moment. if i had gone with it, my upcoming kid would probably have to run around naked because i would be able to afford diapers anymore! hahaha

i can't believe the prices people are asking for homes in Taiwan these days. its insane. the prices are going down though because people aren't lining up to buy.

it is insane. prices out here in taipei county averages about nt$230k ~ nt$250k per "ping" (about 3.306 square meter or 35.583 square ft). let's not even talk about the panquiao area where it's up to nt$300+ per "ping". any decent size homes out here are easily way over nt$10 million.
yes, it's gone down a bit but still relatively expensive.

who would pay that much? damn, you'd have to really want to show off badly.
