this is pretty much the anthem of the baby world here in taiwan

we've been playing it every night for the baby and wifey says everytime we do, the baby moves around quite a bit

baby or not, i think this is a pretty catchy and mellow song to listen to

with wifey at almost 23 weeks now, the baby's movements have been getting stronger and she can feel them more and more

altho' the movements are still not very visible on the outside, i've seen the baby poke out a couple times

last night, as i had my face against wifey's belly and having my nightly talks with baby, i said a joke and it gave me a punch/kick to the face!

don't know if that was because the baby thought it was a funny one or a bad joke...

i don't care

that was cool!

baby names?

alright folks

wifey and i need to start thinking about english baby names

we've got a few in mind, but we are curious to know what you people like

so, come on, let play "name that baby"

what boy and girl names do you like???

oh baby! ..... it's a boy! no wait, it's a girl!!!

well, what do you know?

this pregnancy is turning out to be pretty suspenseful

in our past few check-ups, the doc said the baby looks like it's a boy

well, yesterday we went in for our week 20 (5 months) check-up and the doc said it's a girl

this time he sounded pretty certain too

we are happy either way but that was somewhat of a shocker since we've been told it's a boy all this time

we've even been calling the baby "son" when we talk the him/her

from now on, we're just gonna call the baby "baby" when we talk to him/her

we are even more anxious than before now

at 20 weeks, the gender should be pretty certain now

80 ~ 90 %

but still, we can not wait until the next check-up and ultrasound

there's really no sure thing when it comes to a baby's gender

the only way to know for sure is when the baby is born

it sure is fun to play the guessing game tho'

but at the same, if you know the gender, it's so much easier to shop for things

regardless, i am still not buying anything pink

with the 6th pick in this year's nba draft, the milwaukee bucks picked yi jianlian of china

unfortunately, yi doesn't wanna play for the bucks

his agent and the chinese officials are asking the bucks to trade him

to that i say... fuck him, fuck his agents and fuck the chinese officials

i'm sure it's most likely not his saying nor his fault all this is happening

he's probably just being manipulated like a puppet by the chinese officials and government

i'm sure he's pretty thrilled to be in the nba and he should be

the odds of making it are one in a few thousand

on top of that, he's a first round pick so his multi-million dollar (us$) contract is guaranteed

he probably won't enjoy much of it tho' as the chinese government will take most that $

i don't care if you are michael jordan and were picked by a team located in north pole

just another biz trip to china

just got back from the motherland a couple days ago

2 nights, 3 days

a couple meetings here

visit some suppliers there

nothing special, just another short business trip

left my camera in the hotel for most of the trip, so didn't get a chance to take any photos

hanging with beetlejuice

my good friend and colleague rich from illinois is in town again

a couple days ago, we went to visit a supplier (a tool shop) for the project we are working on

the owner of that shop is mr. hsieh but we call him beetlejuice (or bj for short)

the reason behind that is because, not only does he actually kinda looks like beetlejuice, he just loves chewing that betelnut

he took us out to lunch and his buddy joined us
