we had our company's annual year-end party (weiya) last sunday at a restaurant inside the miramar mall
just like every year-end party we've had in the past, there were cash prize draws with the top prize being nt$60,000 (roughly us$1,800) this year
the chinese say one has good fortune and luck after a child's birth so with olivia still being a newborn, i was very optimistic about my chances this year
my optimism turned into disappointment as i left the party without an extra cent to my name
shit
i guess there's always next year but it's kinda frustrating that i've said that 3 years in a row
yup, not a draw in 3 years
what can i say???
there's always next year

not winning the cash is one thing. but not winning the cash plus no strippers, come on - that's very un-Taiwanese!
yeah... that's some shit man. instead they got some short fat guy... not that i've got anything against short fat guys :P
At least you got a party. We went for lunch with my boss and she paid for herself and the person she's trying to hire. If I was the new hire, I'd be noticing that I think.
M
michael, sorry to hear that. you are right, if i was that new hire i'd think twice about working there... but then if i was working there i might think about working somewhere else. thanks for the comment.
