blue sky high

lately i haven't been posting too much simply because there's not much to post about. with the sun hiding, making for miserable cold rainy days for almost a month now and a newborn in tow, we've just been staying home all this time. my huge workload hasn't helped either, but we did manage to go out last saturday night to a party hosted by our good friend... the one and only mj "the bushman" klein. the party was held at the blue sky restaurant & bar located in xinzhuang, just about 10 minutes from home. this place is a real trip with its psychedelic and colorful décor. despite a little episode with a drunk thai guy and the horrendously loud music, we had a good time. the food was pretty good (altho' surprisingly a bit pricey) and the company was great as usual. got to see some old friends (mj & hui-chen of course, the usual suspects becky & jerry, then there was franc, sg, carrie, john, david e., catherine, and david r.) and meet some new ones (joanna, boyd, patrick and craig).

Gotta love the over-framed picture of Che.... because nothing says Thai food like Cuban revolution!

So so so so so so sorry I didn't make it and so so so so sorry I didn't get back you. Things have been crazy on my end. Please kick my butt when we finally meet.

Han decided to try to drive around taiwan by scooter in 48 hours and I was trying to save data from a mac that decided to die at the end of new years. So I have a new mac :)

Anwyay sorry again and hope to catch you next time.

andres The colours of the bar are just so out there. I seen this bar before on MJ's blog and it is great to see pictures of MJ doing his thing. I cannot wait to hear him play one day and also have a BBQ with you guys and see this bar for myself.

brunty... would be great if you can visit some day. mj and i would like to take a trip to thailand together, so who knows? maybe we'll drop by your neighbourhood and hang out at a real thai bar!

It was fun but I wish I'd had more of an opportunity to chat with you. It was just too loud. Jo and her Mom showed up and then her Mom decided not to stay. We had to bundle her into a cab and make sure she got home safe before joining in the festivities. I'm looking forward to seeing you both again under quieter conditions.
