death of a blog

well, they say all good things must come to an end, right? so, it's been a lot of fun since i started it in 2003 but after some thought, i've decided to shut down my photoblog indefinitely.

altho' it was not really high maintenance, i've been feeling lackadaisical and weary, plus i just don't have the time for it now. i will continue to have "photoblog" posts in this blog once in a while.

thanks all for the support, comments, links and viewings. who knows, maybe i will change my mind about this when i finally get my hands on a dslr.

olivia is 3 months old

olivia turned 3 months old today. she's growing up real fast! i'm glad we live in such a technological world today with all these digital cams for photos and videos. wish the world was so advanced when i was a baby. i don't have any photos from my days as a newborn. hope olivia appreciates all these when she grows up (altho' she might not like it that i'm posting it for total strangers to view! :P).

when i left for work on monday morning, olivia looked like this...



then when i got home from work that night, olivia looked like this...



yup, olivia got her head shaved. karen and my mom did it while i was at work without telling me! well, i don't wanna get into that. that's another post for another time but she does look very cute. we've got ourselves a little shaolin monk!

here's how it went down...



the reason for shaving her hair is because according to "people" (the elders), the hair will grow back more evenly, thicker and fuller; which is complete bullshit to me. i have friends who shaved their kids and their hair still looks like ralph from the simpsons. on the same token, i have friends who never shaved their kids and they've got so much hair it would make a heavy metal band jealous. what does that tell you? it's all in the genes. you be the judge.

you don't have to shave it off if you don't want to and i didn't want to, but since i was not home, there wasn't anything i could do about it. oh well, it is what it is and she does look really cute...









wouldn't it suck if her hair took forever to grow back tho'?!?!?! know where i can find some baby wigs??? :P

blue sky high

lately i haven't been posting too much simply because there's not much to post about. with the sun hiding, making for miserable cold rainy days for almost a month now and a newborn in tow, we've just been staying home all this time. my huge workload hasn't helped either, but we did manage to go out last saturday night to a party hosted by our good friend... the one and only mj "the bushman" klein. the party was held at the blue sky restaurant & bar located in xinzhuang, just about 10 minutes from home. this place is a real trip with its psychedelic and colorful décor. despite a little episode with a drunk thai guy and the horrendously loud music, we had a good time. the food was pretty good (altho' surprisingly a bit pricey) and the company was great as usual. got to see some old friends (mj & hui-chen of course, the usual suspects becky & jerry, then there was franc, sg, carrie, john, david e., catherine, and david r.) and meet some new ones (joanna, boyd, patrick and craig).

olivia's got a cold

olivia has been sick for a couple days now

our poor baby is down with a cold at the moment

:(

it's really heartbreaking to see her nose all stuffed up and looking all somber

i just hate this cold rainy weather

took her to the doc today and got her some medicine

she's getting better now but still...
