after finishing the tomb sweeping proceedings and mending olivia's burns at the local hospital, we went on to the taiwan national museum of marine biology & aquarium as planned.....

i've seen these famous whale sculptures in other people's photos many many times. it was real nice to finally see them in person.

once inside there were all these really cool and huge aquariums, which made olivia want to get off her stroller right away.

even cooler than the huge aquariums, were these really long underwater tunnels.

the main attractions were these rather large stingrays.....

and school of sharks.

whenever we go out to eat at a restaurant that has these live fish aquariums, olivia always wants to go look at them the whole time. so being inside the underwater tunnels with so much fish all around to look at, she was in heaven! once we reached the end, we had such a hard time getting her to move on. when i had to forcibly grab her and take her away, she cried her eyes out.

i've never seen these things before, so i have no idea what they are but they were peculiar looking sticking in and out of the sand like some underwater prairie dogs.

if you have kids, i highly recommend this place. even if you don't, it's a great place to visit. we had a really good time with lots of things to see. olivia wasn't the only happy camper in there. i too was pretty excited throughout and felt like a kid again!

You can actually pay to sleep in one of the tunnels for the night too did you know? Han wanted to do it for one of our anniversaries but we haven't yet.
