the taipei zoo

been wanting to take olivia to the taipei zoo for the longest time, but we felt that she was too young to really enjoy it. however, since she's been able to say most of the animals in both chinese and english earlier this year, we finally decided to take her. she did really enjoyed seeing all the animals in person and was shouting out the name of each animal she saw or asking us what it was called.....

you know you are near the zoo when you see the giraffe smokestack.

the main entrance to the zoo.

and the shouting begins. olivia started shouting "monkey, monkey" as soon as she saw those fake monkeys on the ledge above the taipei zoo sign.

at the panda exhibit.

if you don't like snakes, stay away from this exhibit because...

you get see things like this...

and this.

it wasn't all scary, slimy snakes tho'.

happy feet; former stars of the zoo. i saw former because all the attention the past few years have gone to the koalas and then the pandas.

"Oh Canada... Our home and native land!"

"i like to move it, move it!"

again, we had a great time and olivia really enjoyed herself and was so happy to see all the animals in person. the zoo is really big so if you plan to go, go there early and make sure to bring a stroller if your kid still uses one. we didn't even go through all the exhibits even tho' we were there for a few hours (and olivia felt asleep). so we plan to go back soon as she's been bugging us ever since to go back.
